Lightning strikes the roof of a building in Alghero. While a strong storm was hitting the city, a veranda on the fourth and top floor of a building in via Don Minzoni caught fire, a fire started by a lightning strike that damaged the structure.
It happened yesterday evening, around 10pm, when the fire brigade teams, busy limiting the inconvenience caused by heavy rains, intervened to put out the fire, preventing the flames from spreading.
Fortunately, no consequences for people. The heavy downpour forced the red helmets to close to vehicular traffic via Lido , due to the flooding that made traffic difficult, also affecting via Pacinotti and the area near the Marino hospital.
On the Garibaldi seafront, where the same critical issues recur, the water flowed like a river in flood, forcing cars to make difficult maneuvers. Flooding also in some premises and in the former fruit and vegetable market where a cultural initiative was underway.
