It's time to take stock in Bitti for the "Autumn in Barbagia" event, which last weekend attracted thousands of visitors and enlivened the streets, squares, and courtyards of the Barbagia town with initiatives and events for all ages and tastes.
Among this year's cultural and artistic innovations, in addition to the rich program that has been offered at the Bitto Festival for decades, were the extraordinary exhibition "Gratzias – In caminu pro chitare promissas," dedicated to the votive offerings that the faithful have offered to Our Lady of the Annunciation over the centuries, and the new itinerant trail through the historic center, "Caminos de Identitate." This permanent installation, featuring new and historic photographs and audio guides downloadable via QR code, tells the story of a nearby pastoral and agricultural community, a blend of work and celebration, tradition and faith.
"It was certainly a positive year, with numbers up from the previous year," emphasized Christian Farina, City Councilor for Tourism. "In addition to increased attendance at the museums and the Romanzesu archaeological site, the initiative sold out most of the food and beverage outlets in the town center. Excellent sales were also achieved at the stands selling local food and wine products, including wines, craft beer, fresh pasta, seatas, and leather goods. Behind this excellent result," Farina continued, "is the excellent work done by the City offices, particularly Dr. Palmas, head of tourism, culture, and the environment. We also deserve thanks to Aspen, the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce's special agency for economic promotion, which is always attentive to the needs of the municipalities." And then there are the operators at the individual stations, without whose commitment Autumn in Barbagia would not exist, and finally the numerous visitors: it is above all to them that we owe the wonderful festive atmosphere that characterizes this event."
