It's a big celebration for the Sassari Autoferrotranvieri Guild. Today, the celebrations in honor of the patron saint, Saint Christopher, began, following Thursday's investiture of the statue and yesterday's Vespers. This morning, Mass was held in the Cathedral of San Nicola, officiated by Father Eugenio Cavallo, and concluded with the traditional Intregu rite with the passing of the flag. The new senior obriere is Gesuino Alberto Fois, succeeding Giovanni Giuseppe Mamusi, while the roles of candeliere and senior fisco will be held next year by Giuseppe Pettenadu and Giovanni Antonio Mamusi, respectively. Tonight, the solemn procession of the statue of Saint Christopher the Martyr through the city streets will take place, with the other Guilds also participating. Tomorrow, the celebrations will conclude at 7:00 PM in the cathedral with a Mass for the deceased members of the Guild.
