A hundred years and two towns united around her story. Efisia Lusso , born in Villasalto and a resident of Muravera for nearly sixty years, today received tributes from the administrations of the two communities with which her life is intertwined. Mayor Francesca Mattana and Deputy Mayor of Villasalto Francesco Cotza arrived at her home in Muravera. Both wished to personally celebrate the new centenarian, presenting her with two commemorative plaques and flowers. Aunt Efisia was also joined by her daughter Caterina and her son-in-law.

The recognition came just a few days after her August 17th birthday, which the centenarian had chosen to celebrate without a proper celebration. For her, she said, it had been almost a day like any other. Her way of approaching such a rare milestone seems to reflect the character with which she has lived through an entire century. Efisia Lusso was born in Villasalto in 1926 , the fourth of six children. Her father, Antonio, worked as a miner, also in Su Suergiu. After elementary school, he wanted to continue his studies, but the family's financial situation did not allow it. While still young, she left the village for Cagliari, where she worked as a domestic worker.

In 1960, she married Efisio Andria, originally from San Vito. From the marriage, Salvatore and Caterina were born. In 1967, the family settled in Muravera and, after a few years renting, purchased the house where Aunt Efisia still lives today. She and her husband also farmed land in the Flumineddu countryside. Vegetables, daily labor, and a simple lifestyle accompanied the family for many years.

At one hundred, Efisia is described as lucid, talkative, and gifted with an astonishing memory. She associates longevity with a healthy diet and family wealth, but above all, a way of facing life without letting difficulties discourage her. On her birthday, she also received a visit from the parish priest of Muravera, Father Ignazio Pili , with best wishes from the parish community. Today, however, she received a warm welcome from the institutions of Muravera and Villasalto : the town where she built much of her life and where her roots lie.
