"It seemed like a bad dream, a nightmare from which I could awaken. Instead, upon awakening, the confirmation of an even more difficult reality came. The CT scan spoke clearly: Attila is inoperable." Elisabetta Podda, manager of the La Casa di Bingo shelter, who in recent days had responded to the request for help for a dog with a large tumor that originated in one testicle, recounts the sad outcome of the examination the animal underwent.

"The tests revealed the presence of cancerous masses affecting several organs in his body, making surgical intervention impossible," she says. "The hope of being able to cure him through surgery has thus definitively disappeared. However, we still have the opportunity to support him in the most dignified and loving way possible during the time he has left."

Following the veterinarians' instructions, Attila will be treated with palliative care and pain management, with the goal of ensuring the best possible quality of life every day, providing him with peace of mind, comfort, and, above all, all the love he needs. "If and when necessary, he will also be supported on his final journey, so that he can end his life without suffering and with dignity."

Faced with such a painful diagnosis, a significant decision has also been made regarding the fundraising campaign launched to support his treatment. Out of transparency for all those who contributed, the GoFundMe campaign will be closed.

"The money raised so far will be used exclusively for the care, veterinary expenses, and medications needed to support Attila and ensure he has a quality of life worth living until the end," explains Elisabetta Podda. "A huge thank you goes to everyone who has donated, shared his story, sent a message, or simply cheered him on. The support he has received has been, and continues to be, invaluable during this difficult time. Unfortunately, Attila's story has taken a different direction than we all hoped. But one thing won't change: he won't be alone until his final day."
