House arrest for a 61-year-old from Alghero who in the months of September and October had repeatedly attempted to start a fire on private land south of Alghero.

The staff of the Forestry and Environmental Surveillance Station of Alghero took steps to execute the precautionary measure order (with electronic bracelet) issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Sassari, at the request of the competent Public Prosecutor's Office of Sassari.

The investigations, conducted by the staff of the Alghero Forestry Station, assisted by the environmental and forestry police investigation unit of the CFVA inspectorate of Sassari, began in September following numerous reports of fire outbreaks south of the town of Alghero, which they had requested the intervention of the local firefighting teams and alerted the inhabitants of the area.

Thanks to a careful and fruitful use of environmental surveillance devices, including video surveillance cameras, the investigations made it possible to identify the person now under investigation who, according to what emerged from the investigative activity, acted with the express intention of causing a fire.
