The Court of Appeal of Sassari confirmed, re-determining it to 9 years and 4 months, the sentence for attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, of Bastiano Secci, a butcher from Irgoli.
The defense, with the lawyer Federico Delitala, had requested the downgrading of the charges from attempted murder to injuries. In the first instance, Secci had been sentenced by the Gup of the Court of Nuoro, Mauro Pusceddu, to 12 years with the abbreviated procedure.
The story dates back to 2023, when the 57-year-old from Irgoli brutally attacked his ex-partner, Patrizia Dessì (civil party with Milena Patteri), after an argument over jealousy.
Beaten to death, the woman ended up in serious condition in the intensive care unit of the San Francesco hospital. Three years earlier, the man had been released from prison where he had served a 16-year sentence for the murder of his sister-in-law, Maria Antonietta Masala, who was killed with hammer blows in the basement of a market in Orosei in 2008.
