She risked being mauled to death by her own dogs . A tragedy was narrowly avoided in the evening in Piazza delle Muse in Cagliari : a woman was attacked by her own pit bulls inside her home in the public housing complex in the Mulinu Becciu neighborhood . Wounded in the arms and stomach, she took refuge with a neighbor.
In the meantime, the dogs have held the building in check and many residents have taken refuge in the street . The patrol officers, the firefighters, the 118 rescuers and the Dog Hotel staff have arrived to recover the dogs.
Doctors and nurses eventually took the woman to the hospital with multiple injuries. Five large dogs were rescued from the dog catchers along with eight puppies .
Now investigations will be necessary to understand the conditions in which the thirteen dogs were kept.
