In Decimomannu, a Carabinieri operation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old local worker for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, while a 24-year-old woman was reported for complicity in the same crime. The arrest was triggered following a house search that led to the seizure of 49 grams of hashish divided into several packages, 3.7 grams of marijuana, a precision scale, packaging material and 920 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. The “booty” was hidden among the wood in the fireplace.

The operation is the result of an observation and control activity developed by the Carabinieri in recent weeks, after some reports collected in the village. In fact, the alarm was triggered by suspicious movements: frequent visits, brief meetings on the sidewalk and a coming and going of people, some of whom were already known for previous drug use. The Carabinieri, after having started a monitoring, decided to intervene, and upon their arrival the two young men showed no signs of nervousness, probably confident in the hiding place chosen for the drugs: a space created among the wood of the fireplace.

The drugs and packaging material were promptly seized and placed in custody.
