A 24-year-old resident of Assemini was reported by the Carabinieri after being stopped on Sunday afternoon while driving a Fiat 500 through the town's streets.

The young man, a delivery driver already known to law enforcement, will face charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and refusing to undergo required medical tests to verify possible drug use.

According to the reconstruction by the San Sperate station , the 24-year-old's nervous and uncooperative behavior during the stop prompted the Carabinieri to search the vehicle and then the home. The searches led to the discovery of two packages: one containing 5.29 grams of cocaine and the other containing 4.93 grams of marijuana.

Faced with signs of possible alteration , the military invited the young man to undergo medical checks, but the man refused, thus triggering a further complaint pursuant to Article 187 of the Highway Code, which punishes the refusal of tests for the use of narcotic substances.
