The first race of the sixth edition of the Asinara Gulf Meeting got underway at 10.30 am, in the splendid setting of Acque Dolci beach, in Porto Torres, in the 5km long distance race, which saw the participation of 70 athletes, including competitive and master athletes from 23 participating clubs , of which 14 from the Sardinia Committee and 9 from other regions of Italy, one master athlete from Luxembourg and two from the Italian national team.

The event will feature Ginevra Taddeucci , Olympic bronze medalist in Paris 2024 and four-time world runner-up in Singapore 2025, and champion Marcello Guidi, runner-up in the world championship in Singapore. On Sunday, again in the stunning setting of Acque Dolci, the Sprint Mile race will start at 10 a.m. with 114 athletes (41 competitive and 73 masters). Fifteen knots of wind this morning at the start of the race saw Marcello Guidi lead the way from the start.

The stage is organized by Aquatic Team Freedom in collaboration with Fin Sardegna and the patronage of the Municipality of Porto Torres.
