Murder in Arzana . A 52-year-old from the town , Vincenzo Beniamino Marongiu (known as Mino), was shot dead in Piazza Roma.
The incident happened around 9am today .
According to initial information, the man, with multiple criminal convictions and subject to special surveillance , had just left the bar, where he had had a takeaway coffee, when he noticed the presence of two men with a gun outside the place.
He tried to escape but the gunmen chased him and shot him several times, killing him instantly.
The investigations , coordinated by the Lanusei Prosecutor's Office , are entrusted to the town's carabinieri and the Lanusei Company.
Prosecutor Valentina Vitolo , holder of the investigation file, arrived at the crime scene.
The medical examiner Roberto Demontis is also expected on site for an initial external examination of the body and the Ris carabinieri are operating, looking for traces that could lead to the murderers.
