The Carabinieri of Arzachena have identified a pensioner of almost ninety years of age who today, according to the investigations of the force, was the protagonist of an episode that occurred near Cannigione and which is still to be clarified .

The elderly driver allegedly hit a person late this morning who was on the side of the road, on Provincial Road 59, near a luxury sports car. The victim was thrown onto the asphalt and is now in the hospital in Sassari for a head injury ; the patient's condition is said to be serious but the man's life is not in danger.

The person responsible for the accident left without providing assistance, and was stopped and identified by the Carabinieri near his home.

The pensioner risks being charged with failure to provide assistance , but it cannot be ruled out that he did not realise he had hit a person.
