The Carabinieri of the Olbia Territorial Department have arrested three people on charges of attempted murder. They are believed to be responsible for the brutal beating of Miguel Angel Paez, a 69-year-old Argentine national , who was left on the brink of death on February 3 in the house where he lived, in via Marche, in Olbia.
The investigations were coordinated by the Tempio Pausania Prosecutor's Office. The story was reconstructed thanks to the analysis of video surveillance images, the acquisition of testimonies and the activities carried out by the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Olbia Territorial Command.
The man had been beaten to death in a house he was occupying without a title. The neighbors raised the alarm and the rescuers found Paez lying on the ground, lifeless with a smashed head and several broken ribs. He was taken to the hospital in Olbia where, eight months later, he is still hospitalized.
