She mistook bleach for water and drank it : it happened yesterday, around noon, in Pistis, a tourist village on the Costa Verde. The victim was an 80-year-old grandmother from Gonnosfanadiga . Her condition immediately appeared serious, and she was transferred to the emergency room of the San Gavino hospital for suspected poisoning. Doctors, after performing the necessary tests, found a minor lesion in her stomach. Out of danger, she was discharged that afternoon.
An involuntary gesture, prompted by distraction, could have turned into tragedy. The woman, on vacation at her summer villa, around 11:30 a.m., driven by thirst, opened the refrigerator for a glass of cold water. She grabbed the wrong bottle, never realizing it might contain bleach, which had undoubtedly ended up there inadvertently , due to a simple mistake.
The ambulance arrived promptly, thanks to the summer service in the nearby town of Torre dei Corsari. The volunteers, fearing complications from the suspected poisoning, requested the intervention of the air ambulance.
