Big party in Arborea and Oristano for the new centenary. The coveted goal was crossed by Maria Maddalena Bardi, guest of the Carlo Avanzini Integrated Community of Arborea.
Not only relatives and friends brought her best wishes but also the mayor of Arborea Manuela Pintus and the councilor for the environment of the Municipality of Oristano, Maria Bonaria Zedda, who donated a souvenir plaque.
The new centenarian, born in Gonnosfanadiga on April 3, 1923, has Tuscan-Sicilian origins, her Sicilian grandfather had moved to Sardinia to manage the Monteponi mines. Married to Franceschino Lai (known in the city for his activity as an agronomist and manager of the Consorzio di Bonifica), in 1951 she moved to Oristano. She is the mother of 2 daughters, Rita and Antonella, and grandmother of 4 grandchildren.
A housewife, she dedicated her life to raising her family, carving out time for her passions too: opera first of all, she never missed an opera at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, travel, spa treatments and lessons at the University of the Third Age.
The daughters love to remember his qualities in the kitchen and his main dish: the typical zippole of Gonnosfanadiga which, as long as he could, he loved to cook at carnival to offer them to relatives and friends who he gathered at his home.
