The health emergency calls. After several noes from the Region and the ASL, Mimmo Licandro will finally be available to citizens left without a doctor, in the extraordinary community clinic of Arborea.
He is the first retired doctor in Sardinia to join a company project for primary care with a prescription pad, thanks to the new regional law number 12 of 20 August , which also allows retired doctors to use the red prescription pad to prescribe specialist visits, diagnostic tests and drugs to patients until 31 December.
Licandro, who had announced his availability several times in recent months, will be busy tomorrow morning at the Ascot in Arborea, in via Romagna, from 8 to 13. «The general management and all of his staff thank him for his availability», said the general director of ASL 5, Dr. Angelo Maria Serusi. «Dr. Licandro himself, after a few years of inactivity following his retirement, returns to work in an area where he has worked for decades and which he knows very well. In the coming weeks, other retired doctors will begin working in our extraordinary community clinics».
The social-health management and the office for hospital-territory integration of the ASL 5 of Oristano invite all retired doctors interested in joining the Ascot project, by immediately submitting their candidacy to the ASL protocol .
