The last time was in 2019. Thousands of people celebrating in the streets of Arbatax for Borgo marinaro. No one could have imagined that the following year the pandemic would break out and would cancel events and enthusiasm. This year the event is back, organized by the Vele corsare association, which aims to celebrate the maritime culture, local traditions and food and wine, offering a rich program of activities to citizens and visitors.

The sixth edition, for which the Municipality announces its patronage and support, will take place on May 31 and June 1. "We are proud to support the event," said Mayor Marcello Ladu, "which enhances our cultural heritage and our maritime traditions . Borgo marinaro represents an important opportunity to promote tourism and the local economy, while involving the community in a festive and participatory event."

The Councilor for Tourism, Rita Cocco, is of the same opinion: «A precious opportunity to rediscover and enhance our traditions and our history, but also to look to the future with a spirit of innovation. We are grateful to the organizers for having decided to revive the event that we have decided to support with conviction . Our goal is to support events that promote the identity of the territory and its historical-cultural heritage».

Among the various actions to support the initiative, the Municipality has allocated a financial contribution (revenue from the tourist tax), public spaces will be granted for the various activities scheduled and will promote the event on its social media channels. The local police will collaborate in preparing the traffic plan and areas for parking vehicles. In addition, the use of mobile barriers and road delimiters owned by the municipality will be granted for the implementation of the safety plan prepared for the event. For the occasion, the alleys of the village will host tasting points for typical products, exhibitions, gatherings and displays of local crafts and visits to historical monuments will be possible . Boat trips and workshops for children are planned. Particular attention will be paid to promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness on the issue of safeguarding the sea.
