Another Sunday of fires on the island . Two hectares of Mediterranean scrub went up in smoke in the Stintino area, in the Cuile Novo area, along provincial road 34, near the roundabout for Ezzi Mannu beach .
The flames broke out in the early afternoon, around 2:20 PM, alerting the firefighting forces coordinated by the Forestry Corps. The operation required the intervention of ground firefighting teams, firefighters from the Stintino and Porto Torres companies, civil defense, and forestry services, while a helicopter from the Anela operations base took flight.
A group of 25 people remained engaged in extinguishing operations until 6:00 PM, which ended around 6:00 PM, when cleanup operations began. The fire also broke out in the countryside of Ploaghe , in the Funtana Su Cantaru area, where the aircraft that took off from the Limbara base also responded.
