Another day of fire in Sardinia: businesses destroyed, a mother and daughter rescued from the flames in Villaspeciosa.

The number of fires in Sardinia remains extremely high. Twenty-two were recorded today, six of which required the intervention of regional air forces. In a blaze on the outskirts of Villaspeciosa, Uta Forestry Corps personnel rescued an elderly woman and her daughter from the flames: the fire had reached their home.

In Teulada, flames hit the Costa Moreddu area, with extinguishing operations coordinated by the Teulada station and a helicopter from the Pula base. Two teams of volunteers from Santadi and Sant'Anna Arresi and three teams from the Forestas Agency from the Teulada, Santadi, and Domus de Maria construction sites responded to the scene. This fire has been extinguished, while in other locations flames remain uncontained : in Carloforte ( two homes evacuated ), San Gavino ( fields devastated ), and Villasor ( a business destroyed ).

At Nuraghe Fruschiosu, in the countryside outside the municipality of Esporlatu, the Bono Forestry Corps station is coordinating the ongoing firefighting operations, along with the GAUF unit from Sassari and personnel aboard four helicopters from the bases of Anela, Bosa, Farcana, and Alà dei Sardi (Super Puma) . Also on site are the barracelli from Burgos and Esporlatu, volunteers from Illorai, and four Forestas teams from Anela, Bono, Bultei, and Burgos.

In the Budoni countryside, in the Monte Ruju area, firefighting operations are being coordinated by personnel from the Siniscola Forestry Corps station, assisted by helicopter personnel from the Limbara and San Cosimo bases . Local fire marshals are also present.
