New repairs are underway on the Bidighinzu aqueduct due to a fault that has caused disruption to nine municipalities in the Sassari province. Abbanoa teams are on site to limit disruption to the municipalities of Ittiri, Ossi, Tissi, Muros, Sorso, Sennori, Osilo, Usini, and Uri. Remote monitoring systems detected a sudden decrease in water supply from the Bidighinzu aqueduct early this morning. Abbanoa emergency technicians immediately mobilized to locate the source of the break and begin repair work. Given the large pipeline spanning several kilometers, repairs and restarting the aqueduct could take more than 24 hours. Therefore, pressure drops and interruptions are expected throughout the day in the municipalities of Ittiri, Ossi, Tissi, Muros, Sorso, Sennori, Osilo, Usini, and Uri. Direct contact is underway with the mayors of the affected municipalities to best manage the emergency and identify sensitive users (such as schools or social care facilities) that may require replacement service.
