There is also a Sardinian in the national executive of Anmil, the association of disabled and disabled workers. This is the 66-year-old Michele Tatti, provincial president of Nuoro, who after being appointed national councilor at the recent congress in Pescara together with Gino Caruso of Cagliari and Francesco Cosseddu of Sassari, was elected last week in Bologna among the eight members of the new president Emilio Deandri called to replace Zoello Forni.
Originally from Fonni, an accident at work suffered at the age of 19 (run over by a motor hoe while plowing land and suffered the amputation of a leg) did not prevent him from enrolling in the register of professional journalists and working for 40 years in the newspaper “L'Unione Sarda”: «Now as a pensioner - says the Anmil manager - I feel the duty to give back a little of what the Association gave me when, victim of a serious accident, it welcomed me at a very young age Association. As Sardinia, thanks to the unity of the delegation, we achieved an extraordinary result by bringing a Sardinian back into the national executive. Unfortunately, even on our island, the recent tragedies - three fatal accidents in ten days - remind us of the duty to relaunch our commitment also to safety and the prevention of accidents at work. At the same time, as was said several times in the just concluded congress phase, we must relaunch our commitment to our members at a regional and territorial level. In Sardinia we are generally committed, among other things, to defending public health (among other things on the island, in many places the ASL commissions which must also extend the benefits of law 104 to disabled workers have been blocked for over a year). Immediately after the summer holidays, together with the local managers - concludes Michele Tatti - we will start a constructive discussion with the territorial and provincial leaders of Inail, reiterating to them our collaboration to address at Sardinian level also some peculiar problems caused by the lack of doctors who the Institute's services for the benefit of its clients are significantly slowing down, starting with collegial visits."
