Following the resounding success of last year's edition, the Sardinia Region has decided to promote the Sardinian Carnival again this year by publishing the Regional Calendar of Events on the Island . Funding of €1 million has been allocated to support the most important events. Thirty-seven applications have been received, approximately half of which were submitted by organizations and associations operating in small municipalities.
The goal, the Region announced in an official statement, is to strengthen and structure Carnival in Sardinia through coordinated event promotion , supported by targeted marketing and communication efforts, both on traditional and digital channels. Throughout the month of February, the Sardinian Carnival will take center stage, with celebrations that reflect the identity, traditions, and specificities of each community . Traditional masks, equestrian jousts, and allegorical floats showcase the island's extraordinary cultural diversity, making each event unique and recognizable.
The Tourism Councillor, Franco Cuccureddu , then illustrated the many activities on the programme: «In addition to the events on this year's Carnival programme, after 15 years, the return of the Sardinia cycling tour is being added, which will take place in the last days of February, with a major event involving over 500 athletes and technicians and which will turn the spotlight on sportspeople from all over the world.
Agreements have also been made with Vola Gratis and Last Minut to promote, alongside the carnival, flight and hotel packages for attending the events.
This year's carnival program will also have an important communication component with a beautiful commercial, created in two versions, which will be shown on social media as well as in airports and websites." The promotional commercial was created and directed by Mario Giua Marassi .
