The Cagliari District Anti-Terrorism Directorate has closed an investigation into conspiracy for the purposes of terrorism, including international terrorism, or subversion of the democratic order, against an alleged insurrectionist anarchist group with horizontal and informal ties, operating in Cagliari and throughout the island.
Ten people are under investigation, accused of being the creators and promoters of the association, while the Prosecutor's Office believes a total of 36 people organized marches, including violent ones, during anti-militarist demonstrations, or raids targeting the political activities of other parties. The alleged incidents date from 2020 to last May.
Among others, there is the raid on the Lega Nord stand collecting signatures for the referendum in Piazza Garibaldi, proselytism through the blogs Nisciunu est solu and Maistrali, and the damage and defacement of symbolic sites during several demonstrations.
The ten suspects are also accused of having access to a property in Cagliari, the Officina Autogestita Kasteddu, which was used to plan the association's alleged actions and activities, as well as to store demonstration materials that, according to the DDA, would also have been used to spark violence during the marches.
