A homicide investigation is underway after the discovery of a woman's lifeless body in a home in Is Corrias (Selargius) yesterday around 8:00 PM. Following the intervention of the 118 emergency service, the Carabinieri from the Quartu station and company , as well as specialists from the RIS, went into action .

The alarm was raised when the owner of the property , an eighty-seven-year-old retiree , found the body of sixty-six-year-old Florina Florea, of Romanian origin , in the courtyard behind his home. He had been staying with her for free at the time. According to initial investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, the woman fell from the third floor of the building in circumstances that are still being carefully reconstructed.

The Judicial Authority, on the basis of the evidence gathered and having heard the opinion of the coroner, has ordered the transfer of the body to the Brotzu Institute of Forensic Medicine in Cagliari, where the autopsy could be carried out as early as this afternoon by Professor Roberto Demontis and his team.

A series of investigations are underway, continuing throughout the night, and the elderly man (who has already appointed a lawyer) who lived with the woman, likely her caregiver, has reportedly been taken to the police station to be questioned. The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, could see further developments in the coming hours.
