The first comments have been sent on the wind farm project called “Ruina Fielli”, which involves the construction of five towers in the municipalities of Mandas and Gesico .

But the discussion isn't over yet: further comments can be submitted until the end of today, Wednesday, September 2nd. At the heart of the dispute is, in particular, the locality of S'Ecca de sa Muta. According to the report attached to the project, no archaeological evidence or particular hydrological issues have emerged in the area affected by the works.

It is precisely this step that raises the greatest concerns among those familiar with the area and calls for further checks before construction begins.

"The photographs collected in the area," says Carlo Carta , president of the Gesico Pro Loco tourist association, "show what is interpreted as a possible ancient buried road, located at an estimated depth of approximately one to two meters. The nature of the structure will obviously need to be ascertained through specific archaeological investigations."

Another concern is the terrain. According to reports, water tends to accumulate in the area upstream from the project site, creating depressions and actual natural reservoirs that, under certain conditions, could cause runoff, erosion, and landslides.

The hypothesis advanced by those challenging the project is intriguing: an ancient settlement and the road that crossed the area could have been progressively buried by earth movements and accumulations of mud. However, this hypothesis requires scientific verification . "Before carrying out large-scale works and proceeding with deep excavations, it would be necessary to more precisely understand the archaeological history and geomorphological dynamics of the site," Carta concludes.
