A new political clash has erupted over the management of seagrass along the San Giovanni coastline. Alessandro Cocco, leader of the Brothers of Italy party, has taken to the streets to criticize Councilor Enrico Daga's social media statements following protests by six companies in the nautical sector that rent dinghies. "Councilor Daga's social media comments against some nautical operators are serious and unacceptable. Calling their protests 'petty,' 'exploitative,' and 'childish' is an insult to young entrepreneurs who were simply asking to be allowed to work," Cocco stated.

The focus is on the presence of accumulations of Posidonia oceanica in the San Giovanni area, which operators believe has limited the activity of nautical businesses right at the start of the tourist season.

"We're talking about six companies that, after investing and providing services and jobs, in recent weeks have denounced the failure to plan the removal of the seagrass, which was impeding their operations and causing tangible economic damage," emphasizes the leader of the Brothers of Italy group. The opposition representative calls into question the councilor's institutional role. "Whoever represents the institution must listen to those who work and seek solutions. Not publicly mock those who produce, pay taxes, create jobs, and strive to maintain the high quality of tourism."
