A stabbing occurred Sunday evening in the Pietraia neighborhood of Alghero. A 42-year-old driver from Alghero was injured during an argument that broke out outside a bar on Via Don Minzoni, near the train station. According to initial reports, based on witness accounts, a man drove up to the bar and immediately began arguing with the 42-year-old. The confrontation quickly escalated into a full-blown argument, during which a knife was drawn.

The taxi driver was stabbed below the navel, while the attacker reportedly fled. Some patrons at the bar raised the alarm, calling 118. Paramedics treated the injured man and transported him to the nearby emergency room of the Alghero Civil Hospital.

The injuries reported are superficial and his condition is not worrying.

Police arrived on the scene and are investigating to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident, clarify the cause of the fight, and locate the man who fled after the stabbing. This isn't the first time violent incidents have occurred in the area. In 2022, also in Pietraia, a 54-year-old man was stabbed several times during a heated argument.
