Seals at the A-mare Beach Club bathing establishment, the structure built on the Calabona cliff, in Alghero.
The Carabinieri of the Cagliari Cultural Heritage Protection Unit and the Forestry Carabinieri, this morning, executed the order issued by the Sassari Prosecutor's Office investigating the crime of building abuse. They cordoned off the entire area with red and white tape.
The establishment, after having obtained a state concession to build a sunbathing platform and a floating dock, had to close due to a decision by the Municipality of Alghero which had suspended the authorizations.
Then the reopening granted by the Tar of Cagliari until this morning, when the military seized the entire structure. The process started in 2020 had been the subject of controversy by environmental associations and a political party that took the field to defend the coast and clarify the terms of the concession, since it is argued that in the absence of a Coastal Use Plan there is no regulatory basis.
