Strong storm surges caused a fishing boat docked in the port of Alghero to sink. A vessel was floating in the Rafael Cataldi dock this afternoon. Officers from the Coast Guard and local police, led by Commander Salvatore Masala, were on site. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the sinking and assess any damage or environmental concerns.

Meanwhile, last night, the coastal road was closed to traffic due to rough seas. Strong westerly winds blew sand and debris onto the roadway.

Municipal police officers intervened to prevent the passage of cars and motorcycles as a precaution, to ensure road safety, while Environmental Office staff this morning cleared the debris to finally reopen Viale Primo Maggio.
