The Lo Quarter stage in Alghero will host Nino Buonocore and his "In Jazz 6tet" featuring Max Ionata and Flavio Boltro, the stars of the Jazz Alguer festival. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29th at 9:00 PM. Singer Buonocore, who has written some of the most important songs in Italian pop music since the 1980s, will revisit his repertoire with a jazz twist with an exceptional band: Alfonso Deidda on piano, Antonio de Luise on double bass, and Amedeo Ariano on drums. Special guests on wind instruments include Max Ionata on saxophone and Flavio Boltro on trumpet.

A composer, producer, and arranger, Buonocore has built a musical career rich with prestigious collaborations, including those with some of the most important musicians on the international scene: Bernard Pretty Purdie, Anthony Jackson, Chuck Rainey, Tony Levin, Paulinho Da Costa, and Gregg Bissonette. This musical exploration has continued over the years with "Libero viaggiatore" (2004) and "Segnali di umana presenza" (2013), always informed by a strong focus on jazz and its expressive possibilities. With "In Jazz 6tet," the composer brings this research to the stage, reinterpreting some of his most beloved pieces through new arrangements.

The ninth edition of #JazzAlguer is promoted by the cultural association Bayou Club Events, with the support of the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage, Information, Entertainment and Sport and the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, the Fondazione di Sardegna, the Fondazione Alghero Turismo, and the Sassari Chamber of Commerce as part of the Salude & Trigu project and with the patronage of the Municipality of Alghero. The festival is part of the national ItaliaJazz circuit.
