A rave party in the Maria Pia pine forest during the Ferragosto celebrations, where members of the Barracellare company and local police officers intervened to ensure safety. Hundreds of minors gathered for a huge party, accompanied by alcohol abuse and debauchery. The Barracellares attempted to control the situation, but an ambulance was needed for two girls in a coma.

This morning, beaches and pine forests looked like open-air dumps. "When there's no respect, everything ends. Even the celebrations." This is the complaint of Christian Mulas, president of the Council's Environment Committee, who this morning firmly condemned the conditions in which some of Alghero's beaches were left after the Ferragosto celebrations.

"What we found this morning is a disgrace," Mulas denounced. " Our beaches, which should be a heritage to be protected and respected, have been transformed into landfills by a few uncivilized people. Garbage, dirt, and materials abandoned everywhere: it's a true crime against nature, against our city, and against all the people of Alghero." The president of the Environment Commission emphasized the situation on San Giovanni beach and in the pine forest, where garbage was dumped and public spaces were damaged. "It's unacceptable that after a day of celebration, sanitation workers are forced to intervene to remedy the behavior of people who clearly have no respect for the common good. This morning, several workers were busy cleaning up and repairing the damage caused by truly ill-mannered people who, after having fun on our beaches, decided to leave behind a mountain of garbage."

Mulas then appeals to the citizens and all those who frequent the Alghero coast: " The beaches are not someone's property, they belong to everyone. Respecting them means respecting ourselves, our children, and the future of our city . We cannot accept that the fun of a few turns into the inconvenience and work of others." "I thank the sanitation workers who, even today, while many are still enjoying the holiday of Ferragosto, are committed to restoring the decorum of our beaches. But we cannot continue to think that the solution is always and only cleaning up what others dirty. We need more education, more civic sense, and, where necessary, more controls and sanctions." The president concludes with a clear message: "Alghero deserves respect. The sea, the pine forest, the beaches, and the environment cannot be treated like a landfill after a party. Having fun is a right, but littering and vandalizing is not. What happened after Ferragosto must not become the norm."
