A small piece of the ancient bastions (the staircase adjacent to Piazza Santa Croce) is named after Pino Multineddu, author of many popular songs from Alghero. The cultural association Cabirol had requested it from the Toponymy Office of the Municipality of Alghero and on May 1st the plaque dedicated to the musician so beloved by the people of Alghero was unveiled.
The song “Lo pescador a una ma” recorded in 1974 is very popular among residents . «His songs have become part of the city's history and are still a point of reference for all of us today. Thank you Pino for the invaluable legacy you have left to your Alghero», commented Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto , who attended the naming ceremony with the president of the city council Mimmo Pirisi and numerous city councilors and assessors.
