Theft without stolen goods, this morning, in the Intesa San Paolo branch, in via Giovanni XXIII, in Alghero. A man, once inside the bank, apparently reached the position behind the last cash register undisturbed, stealing a cash box that he hid in an envelope and, sure of remaining unobserved, reached the exit without anyone stopping him.

Inside, however, there was no cash, but only documents of various kinds. The thief, evidently not satisfied with the meager loot, saw fit to return what he had stolen. So he placed the envelope containing the box at the entrance of the bank where it was found by the same employees.

Some witnesses who allegedly witnessed the scene said they recognized the person responsible for the theft. The police are investigating the case.
