Alghero, first Christmas weekend with the lighting of the tree and the themed village

The Christmas Tree in Piazza Porta Terra in Alghero is ready to be lit. The event is scheduled, as per tradition, on Sunday 8 December at 7 pm.
“Rosso tondo” is the name of the artistic installation of this edition characterized by the presence of three elements: festoons, coral branches and red spheres. The project is curated by the Algherese artist Tonino Serra and realized with the precious contribution of the students of the Art High School of Alghero.
Already today, Friday 6 December, we start with the double appointment with “Nuove Narratives Contemporanee” at the Ateliers in via Carlo Alberto: at 4 pm the talk dedicated to design and ceramics “ Ceci n'est pas un bolig” Thinking, creating, communicating the object with Robert Carzedda, Giulia Carzedda and Simone a Marongiu (Terrapintada) who talk with Sonia Borsato to present Bolig, an exclusive work created for Fondazione Alghero. Following, the audio-video performance of the duo Les Biologistes Marins Beatrice Miniaci and Anton Sconosciuto , the result of the artistic residency in Alghero which took place in July. At 7:30 pm the Teatro Civico will host the public debate "Baralles - The shared city" , curated by Aps Ginquetes.
Saturday 7 December , from 10 am to 2:30 pm, the headquarters of the Porto Conte Casa Gioiosa Park will host the event “ Christmas at the Park” : a walk along the paths of the Park with a guide, musical event and aperitif prepared with the products of the certified companies of the Park by Meet Sardynia. Also on Saturday at 12 pm and 4 pm there will be the debut of the 22nd edition of the FestivalAlguer in the Manno Gardens with the sound_walk performance “ Sulle mie tracce” by Monica Serra , for children aged between 8 and 11, freely inspired by “Alice in Wonderland” by L. Carroll.
At 4.30 pm the long-awaited inauguration of the Christmas Village in the Sulis Tower , which kicks off numerous events dedicated to children and families, curated by the Family Policy Office.
