An appeal to institutions to make the right to work a concrete possibility. This is the appeal made by Roberto Sanna, father of two minor children, who, following delicate head surgery, was left with a disability that prevented him from continuing his work as a bricklayer, a profession he had practiced for twenty-five years. In a letter addressed to the relevant authorities, Sanna, with courage and dignity, recounts the difficult journey he has faced in recent months.

"Every day I work hard to regain my independence and get my life back on track. There are improvements, but the road is still long," he writes. The man explains that he has completed all the procedures required by law: from visits by the INPS medical commissions to registration in the protected categories. Despite this, he claims he hasn't received any concrete guidance on finding a job.

The disability pension, he says, isn't enough to cover the family's daily expenses, including medical care, the children's needs, sports activities, and summer camps. "I'm not asking for privileges or welfare. I'm simply asking to be able to work, in a job compatible with my health, to regain independence and continue to provide my children with a dignified life," he emphasizes in the letter.

For this reason, he is appealing to the institutions to initiate a concrete discussion to identify a work solution suited to his remaining abilities. "I'm ready to put myself on the line, as I've always done in my life. I just need someone to listen to my request and help me turn a right into a real opportunity," he concludes.
