Scary accident on Thursday evening in Alghero.

Rescue workers entered into action on Viale Giovanni XXIII, where a car and an off-road vehicle collided.

The woman driving the car was injured and trapped in the passenger compartment following the impact. She was extricated by firefighters and then taken to the emergency medical service for emergency transport to the hospital. The driver of the SUV, however, suffered minor injuries.

Emergency medical personnel then secured the area and the vehicles involved. Local police were also on site to conduct investigations.
