An episode of unprecedented violence has shattered the tranquility of the Baia di Conte tourist village in the heart of the Porto Conte park in Alghero, a popular destination for international guests these days.

On Sunday afternoon, a bartender at the hotel was brutally attacked by at least four Italian tourists who had been staying at the hotel for several days. According to initial reports, the fight arose from the employee's refusal to serve a drink to a 15-year-old boy , a member of the family on vacation.

The minor, who did not have the bracelet identifying guests of the all-inclusive resort, was not entitled to any drinks at the bar. This behavior was appropriate and in line with the establishment's rules, but it nevertheless infuriated the adults. The four allegedly dragged the man to the back of the kitchen, out of sight, and there savagely beat him. The bartender required medical attention: he is expected to remain in hospital for 20 days.

The episode caused indignation and concern among other guests and hotel employees, who rallied around their colleague, the victim of violence as unjustifiable as it was frightening.
