A sailboat adrift with three people on board , including a 2 - year - old girl , was recovered yesterday evening by the Coast Guard in the Alghero bay .

The six-metre sailboat was sailing near Capo Galera around 18.30, had an auxiliary engine malfunction and was unable to maneuver to return due to the difficult sea and wind conditions. The alarm was immediately raised in the Alghero Coast Guard operations room, which sent the CP 871 patrol boat to the scene with which the soldiers accompanied the boat safely to the nearest landing place, in Porto Conte.

The three people on board, apart from a little fear, were not injured.
