Race against time to save the life of a newborn Sardinian girl.

«An urgent medical transport with an Air Force Falcon 50 that took off from Ciampino airport and headed for the military airport of Alghero, in the province of Sassari, for a baby girl of only 17 days in very serious conditions took place in the late evening of 23 August», explains a note from the Air Force.

«The little girl, accompanied by her father and mother, was constantly monitored by the medical team of the pediatric ward of the Sassari hospital, for immediate hospitalization at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa. The flight, requested by the Prefecture of Sassari and coordinated by the Situation Room of the Top Command of the air team, active 24 hours a day which also manages this type of urgent medical transport, was activated using a Falcon 50 of the 31st Wing of Ciampino. After the boarding operations of the little patient and the passengers, carried out by the Alghero flight line personnel together with the crew of the Falcon 50, the aircraft took off towards the Genoa airport; upon arrival, an ambulance headed for the Gaslini hospital where the child was hospitalized. The military aircraft then returned to Ciampino airport where it resumed its operational readiness service".
