"Dear Sardinians, we closed the year with the last meeting of the Regional Council, the 106th since our inauguration. Between April 2024 and today, the average pace has been one meeting per week—not a symbolic figure, but a sign of continuous, daily, and transparent work." Regional President Alessandra Todde wrote this in an open letter to the citizens of the island, explaining that "not everything is resolved. Much remains to be done. Governing also means addressing problems that do not produce immediate results , but which profoundly impact people's lives . 2026 will require even greater seriousness, greater listening, and more courage. We will be there, with humility and determination ."
"In recent months, a process of rebuilding public healthcare has begun, addressing its organization, strengthening services, and promoting the right to care," Todde writes. "The Sardinians' right to mobility has been defended through public transportation and territorial continuity, working on a new model that takes into account not only residence, but also family and worker ties. Sardinia has returned to the center of Europe's major challenges, from scientific research to innovation. The Einstein Telescope represents the symbol of an island that can compete, attract skills, qualified labor, and strategic investments."
Among the initiatives, the governor highlights policies on labor, public works, and the path taken to maintain public water supplies, as well as prevention and land safety, and the "definition of clearer rules on urban planning and construction, and guaranteed resources for the Single Sector."
Tourism, culture, and bovine dermatitis were among the other topics addressed by the president. "In the final days of the year, a long-awaited result also arrived: the resolution of the revenue dispute with the state. One billion three hundred and seventy million in Sardinian resources. An agreement that finally begins to recognize, even financially, the structural disadvantages of insularity. We fought a battle for a just energy transition, to defend the principles of territorial protection and planning for a fair balance between the environment, landscape, and energy," she concluded.
