Another extraordinary milestone in longevity has been achieved in Alta Marmilla by Verina Olla, a citizen of Alería. The sprightly centenarian blew out 103 candles, surrounded by the affection of the entire town. Aunt Verina, as everyone affectionately calls her, never married, dedicating her life to tailoring and embroidery, arts she cultivated with passion and mastery.

But his heart beats above all for bees, a passion passed down from his father Luigi after the war . A love he transformed into expertise, passing down secrets and techniques to his grandson Luigi Manias, now an accomplished beekeeper. His story is intertwined with that of the land, one of hard work, dedication, and quiet industriousness.

Mayor Francesco Mereu also paid tribute to her, offering her warmest wishes on behalf of the municipal administration and the entire community, emphasizing "the importance of having such senior citizens in town, who represent the experience and knowledge of our community." This birthday becomes an opportunity to celebrate the memory, roots, and value of the generations who have built the present.
