If the Region intends to pursue the project to integrate Sardinia's airport system , then control of the management holding company must be public . This is what the Regional Council requests in a motion passed unanimously immediately after the budget amendment was approved.
The motion (first signed by Umberto Ticca of the Reformers) requires the president and the Regional Council to " request the Cagliari-Oristano Chamber of Commerce to make available to the Region a share of its holding of at least ten percent , or in any case sufficient to allow the Region to control the holding company and ensure public control over strategic decisions regarding the regional airport system." The motion also requires the Regional Council to "report to the Chamber on the status of the integration project at least every three months."
The thirty million envisaged in the recently approved budget plan have been postponed to 2027 due to the need for the Council to conduct further investigations into the operation, which the Court of Auditors had deemed unclear.
