Less than two months after the first takeoff , the new air service continuity remains a mystery . Although the airlines submitted their bids last December, as of mid-January, Sardinians still don't know the names of the carriers that will transport them across the Tyrrhenian Sea for the next three years, starting March 29th.

And that's not all. The outcome of the tenders is uncertain, because for many routes, the only proposal submitted was that of Aeroitalia, the current concessionaire for the capital and a source of heated conflict with the Region, so much so that it first announced its withdrawal from the tenders last September and then appealed the tender, which it deemed too "tailored" to its competitors. Furthermore, there is no tender for the Alghero-Milan route.
