«A situation that becomes more and more difficult and problematic day by day», is how Arnaldo Boeddu, general secretary of Filt CGIL Sardinia, describes the state of transport on the island: «The summer season has not yet come into full swing which, on flights in aerial territorial continuity from the three airports towards Rome and Milan, the same problems always arise. Insufficient frequencies and seats, impossibility for Sardinians to book the flight especially on some days of the week, difficulty in speaking with a call center to request information and/or change the ticket or request assistance".

According to the union leader, «at this juncture no one can afford to continue campaigning by blaming the other political party for a problem that has dragged on for years and years. The elections are now behind us and now, without wasting time, the control room should be convened to verify whether the carriers are respecting all the clauses set out in the tender".

Boeddu urges the Todde Council «to have the serenity to have constant dialogue with the European Union and verify what corrections it can make in the future tender notice». Among the hypotheses already formulated by Filt Cgil, the single tender for Rome and one for Milan from the 3 Sardinian airports, greater frequencies, a greater demand for seats especially in certain periods of the year and some days of the week. But also provide rewards "if the airlines offer additional routes and destinations beyond the Fiumicino and Linate airports in the tender offer".

For Boeddu, these proposals are «not only consistent with the modification of article 119 of the Constitution but also with the resolution of the European Commission which authorized financing of 30 million euros over three years for new connections».
