She called some relatives: "I'm lost," she said. Then the tragedy: Marilena Porcu, 50 years old, from Borore, was hit and killed by the train traveling from Golfo Aranci to Cagliari at km 136 + 175, in the territory of Aidomaggiore.
The woman was with her dog: she had gone out for a walk and, in the darkness of the countryside, she may have lost her bearings. She walked until she reached the edge of the tracks, where the train was passing.
She may not have noticed, or she may have ended up in the danger zone to recover the animal. She was fatally hit by the locomotive: her body was found in the ditch. Next to it also what was left of the dog.
On site, after the alarm, the Oristano firefighters, 118 and the police intervened, who started the investigations.
