A Sardinian cancer patient returning from Milan had to face an odyssey to board the Aeroitalia Linate-Olbia flight .

An incident denounced by the Gallura MP of the Lega Dario Giagoni , who calls it a "shameful and unacceptable" episode and announces a parliamentary question to the ministers of Transport and Health.

According to Giagoni, the woman, returning from a medical visit in Milan , was due to board yesterday morning's 9am flight. Forced to wear a peritoneal drain and very tired from the illness and the treatments, Aeroitalia rejected the certificate issued by her doctor attesting to her state of health .

"The certificate had initially been accepted, then it was rejected on the grounds of the need to fill out additional forms , the so-called B1 and B2, containing highly sensitive health information," Giagoni says. "The passenger thus missed the flight , was forced to go to the airport emergency room to obtain a new certificate, and only after the intervention of the State Police was she finally granted the right to board the plane ."

But the 9 a.m. flight had already departed, so the woman had to wait for the afternoon one . And, given her health, she was forced to find a hotel room to get proper rest. The room was paid for out of her own pocket, of course.

In short, "bureaucratic quibbles" have forced an already severely tested woman into an ordeal. "It is unacceptable," the parliamentarian attacks, "that in 2025, an Italian citizen, residing in Sardinia, must face such humiliations to return to her homeland after a medical trip . Once again , Sardinians are treated like second-class citizens, penalized by bureaucracy and a transportation system that continues to ignore the real needs of those living on the islands . For those battling an illness, every journey is already a trial. It is intolerable that bureaucracy and indifference turn the right to return home into an ordeal."

With this question to the ministers, Giagoni aims to shed light on this "absurd and inhumane" management, for which "Aeroitalia should be held accountable."
