«The report of the Court of Auditors of 11 September demonstrates that the ACLI were right about the healthcare waiting lists and have long highlighted the ineffectiveness of the regional policies implemented up to now by the Sardinia Region».

Thus the president of Acli Salute of Sassari, Salvatore Sanna, who underlines the need for immediate intervention to reduce the biblical times for medical visits in Sardinia. The data confirms a worsening of 20 points. People wait months before making important visits. The staff, often inadequate in quantity, accentuates the serious problem of treating patients.

«We have been asking for a change of pace and approach towards a fundamental issue of civilization and welfare for some time - adds Sanna - which sees the elderly as people most at risk. If those of the Court of Auditors are the average regional data , the data for central and northern Sardinia are even worse, territories which have a tenth of the health services per capita in the affiliated and territorial health sector.». Therefore the Acli invite the regional health councilor, Carlo Doria, to address the issue. «The competence is there, we just need more attention and desire to respond to the needs of citizens and not of companies, paying greater attention to families and people.» Concludes Salvatore Sanna.
