In an Instagram post, Achille Polonara reassured his patients of the successful outcome of the final procedure needed to complete the delicate phase of the bone marrow transplant and treatment for acute myeloid leukemia.
The Dinamo winger explained: "The operation is to close a little hole in my heart, and it's called an umbrella. It's a walk in the park after what I've been through."
Next step: getting the medical clearance to resume training with the Sassari team. Meanwhile, Polonara was welcomed back to the PalaSerradimigni stadium a few weeks ago and was also the guest star in Turin at the Coppa Italia Final 8.
