The method was always the same. And the scope of action remained unchanged: from July 23rd to August 18th , Luigi Loggias, a 49-year-old farmer from Santa Giusta, allegedly set about ten fires in the countryside near Marrubiu, near the 131 and the railway.
On the night between August 17th and 18th, after setting fire near the bypass road, in the Mascaminis area, the forestry police stopped it. The blaze damaged over 400 square meters, but those flames, on a hot night with a fire risk alert issued by the Civil Protection (code orange), also threatened the forest.
After the arrest in flagrante delicto, in recent days the investigating judge confirmed the prison custody, as requested by the prosecutor Valerio Bagattini.
